|
Alexander Mabon travelled with his parents John and Elizabeth and came to the US at the age of four. Alexander, while in central New York State at Auburn, met and married Phoebe Longstreet. They moved west to Erie County, specifically a suburb of Buffalo, New York called Black Rock where they had some of their first three children, Mary (1841), Alexander (1842 and killed in the Civil War at Cold Harbor, Virginia), and George (1844). The family moved to Niagara County to a small hamlet northeast of Niagara Falls called Pekin. In Pekin, New York, their children Sabrina (1846), Martha (1840), Charles (1854) and Amos Franklin (1856) were born. |
